While I can’t share proprietary details, this case study provides insight into my process for designing a digital huddle board to improve branch teammates alignment and daily planning.
I was approached by the branch network team to design a digital huddle board for branch teammates to review during their morning meetings. This tool would serve as a valuable resource to enhance team alignment, set daily goals, and establish clear expectations for a successful day in the branch. To ensure the accuracy and relevance of the displayed data, the retail network team collaborated with partners across the bank to integrate key information. As part of the design process, I conducted product research and engaged with stakeholders to ensure the tool effectively met the needs of branch teams.
Goals
- Develop a real-time dashboard that displays key branch metrics, ensuring quick access to insights
- Allow branch teammates to set goals and strategies to ensure a successful day
- Review scheduled appointments for the day to ensure proper planning and alignment
Preliminary Research
- Led a session with the retail network team to define the scope and requirements of the project
- Included the digital huddle board as a topic in an in-person discovery workshop to gather data
- Conducted individual interviews with branch managers to understand how they currently hold huddles
- Met with internal and external partners from three different teams to explore ways to connect and share data
Prototype Design
- Designed low-fidelity wireframes for initial review with branch teammates.
- Created high-fidelity designs to showcase the final vision and be used in larger feedback sessions and demos
Testing
- Hosted virtual feedback sessions with branch teammates to review the design
- Presented the design to branch network leadership and collected feedback
- Refined the design based on user-feedback
- Huddle board was developed and is now used as an integral part of branch operations
